Ieder jaar reikt de Stuurgroep Beeldvorming de Woord-en-Beeld-prijs uit.

In 2000 keek de jury naar de beeldvorming van mensen met een verstandelijke handicap op internet. Er zijn ruim honderd websites beoordeeld; veertien sites zijn genomineerd waaronder de Digitale Galerie.
Alle genomineerden kregen van de jury een 'button' om op de eigen site te plaatsen zodat voor bezoekers duidelijk is dat de site voldoet aan de criteria voor een goede beeldvorming over mensen met een verstandelijke handicap.
